OFFERTON CARERS GROUP
The Offerton Carers group held their monthly Get together at St Philips Church Hall, Half Moon Lane, Offerton on 30th January.
They where treated to a Painting Exhibition and competion. Some 20 paintings by a local amateur artist were put on show.
The competion consisted of members having to pick the painting that had come first in the last two exhibitions they had been entered in.
The winner of the competion and on her first visit to the group was Mrs Betty Taylor second prize went to Mrs Marjorie Barber.
After all the excitement we all sat down for tea and cake and a good time was had by all.
Anyone wishing to join the group or needs more information contact Carol Massey on 477 8782

A SATISFIED PATIENT
One day a Care driver went to Stepping Hill To take a lady called 'Diamond Lil'
She saw a doctor by the name of Phil
Who asked her 'are you feeling ill'
The doctor diagnosed she was'nt well
and prescribed a special pill
If you take them to the letter
We'll soon have you feeling better
He took his pen and wrote a presciption
After a long consideration
He told the driver 'you take her to her destination'
Upon arrival she made a nice donation
And told the driver
'This is a token of my appreciation'

Both these pieces have been written by Les Russell a volunteer for the Stockport Care Scheme
Thank you goes to Les Russell
